Kelly Yager teaches us to follow our dreams and do what makes us happy.

About Me: I am an online coach from Ohio and a newlywed! I am passionate about helping beautiful people along their fitness journeys.

What is your fitness journey: I was always very active growing up and participated in school sports. I missed the competitive aspect of sports after high school and decided to prep for a bikini competition. I ended up doing 4 shows over 2 years and found that I didn’t love the back and forth extremes of dieting. I decided to shift my focus to simply feeling good and performing well in the gym and haven’t looked back since!

Your career/work: I got my personal trainer certification in 2018 after falling in love with helping others through social media! I figured if I could have an impact on people by just showing my fitness journey, then I would be able to help so many more people live a healthy life by making it my career. One year later, I’ve already gotten the opportunity to work with so many amazing individuals who have chosen to make their health a priority and live a more balanced lifestyle!

Your tips for living a healthy lifestyle: Slow and steady wins the race! Trying to make too many changes at one time can be very overwhelming and make it very difficult to create those new habits. Focus on one thing at a time: getting in the gym X times per week, eating at home X times per week, drinking X amount of water, etc. Focus on creating one healthy habit at a time and celebrating your wins as they come along!

What are your biggest challenges (mentally and physically) and how do you overcome them? The biggest challenge I’ve had to overcome was trusting myself 100% and not caring about others’ opinions. I chose to leave The Ohio State University my junior year after realizing I was trying to force something that didn’t fulfill me. I had to let go of the idea that other people would judge me because at the end of the day I knew where my true passion lay and that my work ethic and drive would get me where I needed to be. You can’t let others opinions or fear of their opinions rule your life. Trust yourself and put the work in!

Women empowerment means: I try to empower women to feel confident in their skin and love themselves no matter what stage of their fitness journey they are on. We are all on a different journey and we can’t compare ours to someone else’s. I also try to emphasize that helping/encouraging someone else to succeed won’t ever take away from your own success! I think we are stronger as a community than as individuals!

    Rapid Fire:

    • Favorite exercise? Pull-Ups
    • What comes to mind when you think of FRÉ? Glow Me (because I’m actually obsessed with it lol)
    • What are you most excited about in life right now? Being a newlywed and growing my business to help even more beautiful humans!
    • If you were a hashtag, what would you be? #slowandsteady
    • What is your life motto? Discipline over motivation
