  • Save Lives This Pink Month!

by Pam Green October 06, 2019

    Save Lives This Pink Month!

1 in 8 women in the USA will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.

While breast cancer can’t be prevented,  you can take steps that help to detect it earlier.  Because when  breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is more than 99%.

    Early Detection Saves Lives!

Early detection includes doing monthly breast self-exams, and scheduling regular clinical breast exams, and/or annual mammograms.

    Mammograms

A mammogram is an x-ray that allows a qualified specialist to examine the breast tissue for any suspicious areas. The breast is exposed to a small dose of ionizing radiation that produces an image of the breast tissue.  Mammograms can show a lump long before it can be felt, and this means that you can detect any abnormalities much sooner, before they spread.

    Pink Month at FRÉ

This Pink Month FRÉ is raising funds to  donate 50 mammograms to women in need, to ensure they will not be turned away from this critical life-saving screening! Each mammogram costs $150 so our total fundraising goal for 50 mammograms is  $7500. (Watch our progress here:   FRÉ Pink Month Fundraiser)

How will FRÉ raise these funds?

Throughout October FRÉ will donate $1 for every order received. So each time you purchase a product or a set from us, we will donate $1 towards our goal.

On October 10 it's  Pink Day at FRÉ! This means that for every order for a Set received on Pink Day, FRÉ will donate $15 instead of $1.

How can you help us reach our goal?

You can help us reach our goal of donating 50 mammograms by placing your FRÉ orders anytime during October!

And you can take part in our  Beauty In Motion Virtual Race which we will be hosting on  October 11-13!

What is a virtual race? It is a race that can be run (or walked) anywhere, anytime, with anyone. Plan your own route or hop on the treadmill during the weekend of the race and complete either 5km or 10km. 100% of all registration fees being donated towards our Pink Month fundraiser. You can register here:  Beauty In Motion Virtual Race

If you are not one for running (we totally understand!) and would still like to make a donation to our fundraiser, you are more than welcome to do so here:  Pink Month Fundraiser donation.

Thank you! Together we will raise more money than we ever could alone!

    Important stuff to know:

    • Women 40 and older should have mammograms every 1 or 2 years.
    • Women who are younger than 40 and have risk factors for breast cancer should ask their healthcare professional whether mammograms are advisable and how often to have them.
    • Even women who have no symptoms and no known risks for breast cancer should have regularly scheduled mammograms to help detect potential breast cancer at the earliest possible time.
